We love seeing our street map wallpaper installed on our client's walls! We spend a lot of time and effort designing the perfect map mural, and working closely with our clients so that every requirement is catered for. It is fantastic to view the end product in its habitat, so we thought we would share some of our most recent projects so everyone can enjoy our fabulous map wall murals.

houzzupload23

Here is a recent street map we made for a client living in London. This map design makes the perfect feature in this living space, and is the perfect way to tie in your colour scheme - the grey on white is contemporary and smart, whilst the burst of teal is echoed in the accessories throughout the room. The clean lines and simple furniture create a modern home with a masculine edge.

houzzred2

Don't you wish your office was this smart? The classic combination of grey on white creates a professional environment, whilst the pillar box red road details provide a pop of colour that will be sure to motivate your staff. The company logo is also included on the map, demonstrating how the company colours can be used to help incorporate branding throughout your office space.

blogimage1

We love the colour combination of this map here at Wallpapered - classic green for parks and blue for rivers always looks great, and is even better when it can be combined with your company colours. All of our custom maps can be edited to include whatever colours you wish.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Sometimes traditional is best, and standard map colours provide a clear and striking look. We use Ordnance Survey data for our maps, and this estate agent uses the simple but effective colour scheme which is guaranteed to look smart in any surrounding. This is also a fabulous way to demonstrate loudly and proudly the area you cover; and because all of our maps show street names, clients will be able to find their very own road on your map mural.

Using colour in your interior is not for the faint hearted, but it can be extremely rewarding. It is all too easy to play it safe and opt for beige, sand, taupe and brown shades throughout your home, creating one big neutral interior. Here at Wallpapered we love colour, and think that even small pops are better than nothing; here are some bold and bright wallpaper ideas to get you started.

Water Colour wallpaper

theweddingscoop.com

This ultra-cool wallpaper features an artistic watercolour smudge - perfect for the colour-shy amongst us. This brings a subtle flavour of colour on a white background, and the watercolour design is so pretty and inoffensive, even beige worshippers can learn to love it.

Colourful wallpaper

hautelook.hardpin.com

Certainly not for the faint hearted, this look requires a dedication to the bright and beautiful. Bold floral wallpaper is contemporary and fresh, and will add so much to the simplest of rooms - you don't need much to create a feature out of colour.

colour wallpaper

urbanflowers.nl

The rest of this scheme is fairly neutral, which really highlights the stunning colours in this mural. Murals are ideal for those who are afraid of colour - you only need to feature one wall, as this look works really well if everything else is kept paired back. Also, if you grow tired of the design after time, they are straightforward to replace and an excellent way to update the room.

colourful world map

brit.co

A world map is the perfect way to add colour to your home - not only does it bring an educational purpose to your wall, it brings colour and excitement, and will always have the wow factor leaving visitors impressed. The colours can be bright of muted, but either way it becomes such a feature that you can keep everything else neutral - or for the colour junkies, pick out your favourite tones and use them to brighten the rest of the room!

Brighten Up Dreary Spaces With These Wallpaper Ideas

Decorating your home is always an exciting time - the possibilities for colour, pattern and texture are endless! However, it also brings its challenges, especially if you have a period building, small or awkward spaces can prove difficult for even the most experienced interior designers. Here at Wallpapered, we think that wallpaper can transform a flaw into a feature - proving that any space can be stylish, now matter how small!

Wallpaper Stairs

Sarah Moore Home

Hallways, corridors and stairs are difficult to decorate - they aren't really spaces in their own right, and always have to correspond to which ever room they lead onto. One way to spruce up your stairs is to use wallpaper as a design detail; the use of different floral patterns here works really well in creating a pretty and delicate look.

bedroom small red wallpaper

homedit.com

This space could easily be dark and dreary - the use of a brightly coloured, feminine pattern brings life into this small bedroom. The room doesn't need much other colour and is kept neutral, with the addition of the raw wood and fluffy rug bringing warmth and texture to this cosy space.

small office wallpaper

digsdigs.com

Not only is this adding interest to an awkward area, its also a really clever use of space - the cupboards, pin board and desk are an excellent way of presenting treasured knick knacks and also providing an inspiring place to work. The subtle, pretty floral design is perfect for creating an elegant backdrop without taking over.

small bathroom wallpaper

apartmentherapy.com

Using a fun and quirky design in a cloakroom is a well documented way of brightening up a dank and difficult space. This scheme is kept very neutral, however bold clashing colours, huge prints and intense patterns are all encouraged - this is virtually the only space in your home where you can go wild without fear of causing a permanent headache!

map wallpaper bar small dreary

lushome.com

Here at Wallpapered, we love maps, and think this is the perfect image to demonstrate how they can work in any space! Although a mini bar isn't a high priority on most people's list when they are designing their home, this is an unusual way to make the most of that awkward corner that everyone has - and the map wallpaper is the perfect backdrop for that cheeky vino.

small childrens wallpaper

lillemaison.blogspot.com

This gorgeous design is ideal for a child's room, and really complements the awkward layout of the space. Corners and cupboards can present challenges when designing your home, but using a bold design on one wall like this and keeping everything else white keeps the room light and airy.

Why not use one of our own designs to create a gorgeous feature out of an awkward space?

Making an Entrance - Wallpaper for Hallways

As they say, first impressions count - and having a dated and neglected hallway will certainly make the wrong kind of impression on visitors to your home. These spaces are often awkward, and almost always at the bottom of the list for any decoration project. However, using wallpaper to add a spot of charm can be an effective way of introducing your fabulous home to the world.

bloghallway

housetohome.co.uk

The cobalt blue tones here are stylish and contemporary, whilst the classic Victorian silhouettes are super quirky and add heaps of interest to this small entrance. The console table is the perfect addition and is ideal for popping keys and post on, and maybe the odd pair of shoes can be shoved underneath - or not if you want to keep your pristine hallway that way!

yellowbluebloghall

flowersspin.tumblr.com

This yellow design would bring a bright and happy feeling to your hallway - the perfect first impression on visitors! The dark blue and dark furniture complement the light tones and create a well-balanced and welcoming entrance to your home.

hallwayblogred

styleathome.com

This hallway has fabulous period features - the pillar box red and dark walls work perfectly to create a harmoniously quirky space, something which most smaller rooms wouldn't be able to take. The wallpaper has an exotic design, and black always conjures up concepts of luxury and exclusivity, which is perfect for creating a dramatic entrance for your home.

bloghallways34

houzz.com

This contemporary geometric pattern is ideal for a hallway - the unfussy design creates an interesting but simple feel, reflecting the practical needs of this space. The lack of furniture directs the visitor through this area and into the rest of the house, creating a calm sense of flow.

corridorblog

This image here shows one of our very own custom street map wall murals, up in the corridor of a very happy client. Having a street map of your area in your hallway is the perfect way to make a striking first impression, and make a feature out of an area that would usually be ignored.

Here is another client who used our map wallpaper to accentuate their hall and stairway - the classic black panelling outline fantastically frames the map, which also looks great running along the stairs at this angle.

It's that time of year again, where the autumn leaves are fresh on the ground and the shops are full of witch hats and fake blood - Halloween is upon us! If you've ever been enticed by the gothic look, these wallpaper ideas are for you. Creating a dark and moody atmosphere in your home is one way to add a unique stamp of your personality, although this is not for the faint-hearted...

halloweenblog3

noordinaryhome.com

The proportions of this room lend itself well to this stunning wallpaper design - the navy background is ideal for enhancing the elegant gold pattern. The dark wooden panelling creates a heavy yet regal feel, with the addition of the contemporary chair keeping it from becoming too traditional.

halloweenblog4

littlewoods.com

This flocked design features a repeat pattern of skulls - rather apt for the time of year, but also ideal for a dressing room or a small area of the bedroom for creating that boudoir feel. The luxurious texture of the wallpaper is amplified by the pops of colour and the contrasting smoothness of the dark leather sofa.

halloweenblog5

sublime-decor.com

Reminiscent of Hitchcock's 1963 film, there is something eerie about black crows which is strongly communicated with this wallpaper design. The illustrated nature is quirky without being over the top, and would definitely make a statement in your home.

halloweenblog2

loveage-moondream.tumblr.com

The colour red has long been associated not only with Halloween but with Gothic trends, and it works really well in this dark and moody setting. The black sconces with the classic leather chair scream vamp chic, and the wallpaper provides the perfect backdrop.

halloweenblogone

anordinarywoman.net

Continuing with the birds theme, this faded wallpaper wouldn't look out of place in the Addams Family's master suite - the vintage design pared with the dark furniture and floors mean this old fashioned bedroom is intriguing as it is enveloping.

Top 5 Customer Questions Answered

$
0
0

Here at Wallpapered, we provide a bespoke service and work closely with our clients to create their area map wallpaper. Along the way, we often encounter the same questions popping up - so here is an informative post on the top 5 questions answered by our team!

1. How much area can I cover?

This very much depends on your wall size - and what exactly you are looking for with your map. If you are wanting street level detail, this will reduce the area you are able to cover. However if you are wanting a more rural based map covering a whole county, this can also be done, but will mean that you will not be able to see detail such as street names.

houzzupload23

If you want to cover a very small area with large wall measurements, this is not always possible as we cannot zoom in too far without compromising the image quality. We use Ordnance Survey Mapping data which we print to a very high standard, and are keen to maintain this by covering a little more area to keep the resolution high.

Custom Map Wallpaper by Wallpapered

In short - you can cover almost any area you like for any wall size, however how much you want to see will dictate what scale of map data we need to use!

2. Which colours can I pick?

This one is easy - any you like! The best way to pick your perfect colours is to have a browse around the Pantone colour library online, and send us the reference number. We can also take the colours from your logo or company website.

We can highlight certain areas of the map in different colours, so for example if you wanted pink main roads with blue water and green parks... check out the example below!

mapblog6

If you aren't sure, never fear - we can use the standard map colours, which always look smart and feature subtle colours.

corridorblog

3. Is it washable?

Unfortunately the clue is in the name... paper has never been known for it's washable qualities! However, the paper we print onto is a high quality, non-woven paper that is more durable than traditional wallpaper. Therefore should small marks or stains occur, gentle dabbing with a damp cloth should get rid of the mark in no time.

4. Does it come as one large piece?

No - we provide wallpaper, which comes in strips of 50cm width that correspond to the height of your wall.

Installation is easy - please see this link and this link for more information.

photo 5

5. How long is turnaround?

Our design team are pretty nifty, and we are super efficient at working together to our weekly print run deadline. Delivery takes 7 - 14 days depending where you are in the world - we ship worldwide!

This colourful design is reminiscent of the ocean, and the rustic beach themed accessories work perfectly. Using jarring colours for a traditional wallpaper pattern creates a hybrid contemporary look perfect for making a statement in your home.

Cloakrooms are the best place to experiment with colourful wallpaper, and blue and orange complement each other so well - exactly why this scheme works! The clever window in the ceiling lets light fall down meaning the dark wood isn't too imposing.

This person's bedroom is clearly a colour haven, and would certainly not be for the faint hearted! Lipstick pink and lime green make a fun colour combination in a girly space, and are great for adding quirky additions such as the silhouette portrait.

This feature wall with bold nature inspired pattern injects a well needed burst of colour into this country dining room. The style of the piece matches the overall rustic look, and the small segment stops it being too overwhelming.

Just because you don't want bold colours, doesn't mean you can write colour off completely - muted or midpoint colours still work just as well for that well needed colour pop. This watercolour design means the colour doesn't become the focus instead of the overall look.
